Girl Skate UK Birthday Bash!

A couple of weeks ago it was Girl Skate UK 's 1 st Birthday and to celebrate there was a great jam held at Broom Skatepark in Leicester!

Unicorn and Rev Girls Jams!

Bit slow on updating here but back in tha game from now....

These two rad jams happened at the end of the summer! Firstly Revolution Skatepark in association with Girl Skate UK had a girls Jam! A relaxed affair with girls only skates in each of the rooms, lots of shredding from everyone. Brighton She Shredders were out in force as well!

The second event was the Unicorn Jam at Mile End! Another rad day with loads of new faces and heavy hitters in attendance.

Boardettes - She Shreds Online NOW!

Our friends at Boardettes have been to visit numerous She Shredders sessions that take place in Brighton every Thursday evening, 5.30-7.30pm, to film for a new project.

The result is 'She Shreds'! A short film following UK professional skater, Lucy Adams as she teaches and introduces women of all ages to the world of skateboarding. Following Sportivate’s Brighton She Shredders as they gather each week to develop their skills, the film explores what it is about this adrenaline packed sport that gets you hooked for life.

ITV Meridian News featuring the Brighton She Shredders!

The Brighton She Shredders are going from strength to strength! ITV meridian came down to one of our sessions just before Christmas and filmed the girls in action! We made the cut and were on the telly a couple of weeks ago!

These girls are really pushing themselves and there passion for skating is right up there! They're putting me to shame with the amount of time they're spending on their boards. Brits on Board Intro the new Coven Magazine!

Juliet Elliotts new edition of Coven Magazine is out now! Issue number 6 is the biggest yet and is full of adventurous females and inspiring stories including a little feature about different Brits that ride different boards. Hannah Bailey asked me a few questions and you can read my answers in the online version.....

Vans UKSA Skateboard Champs 2013

Just got back from Nottingham to take part in this years Vans UKSA Skateboarding Championships!

Loads of girls made it down to skate the comp at it's new home of Flo Skatepark and the standard of skating was rad. Well done to everyone, special mention to Lois P for killing all the big transitions in the place and also Becky Jacques for learning a new stunt (blunt fakie) and tweaking that FS Rock on the whippy bank to quarter obstacle.

UK Miniramp Champs

The UK Miniramp Champs were held at The Ledge Tradeshow this year. Things were a bit last minute meaning that the turnout of girls wasn't the best, however here is a picture of the winners...

Girls Skate Comps this Summer!

Summer is finally here and there are a couple of Girl Skate Comps coming up soon.

The first being the annual Girl Skate Jam UK on Saturday 29th June. Big ups to Jenna Selby for organising the greatest girls comp on the calendar for over 10 years.

I'll be heading up to Pioneer skatepark for this hopefully some of the Brighton She Shredders will also be in attendance!

Then, next up is the Unicorn Girls Skate Jam that is being held at Mile End Skatepark, London on Sunday 14th July. I'm really looking forward to heading up for it, as I like the park and excited to meet some more girl skaters!

Sportivate Girls Learn to Skateboard Course - Brighton

Girls in the South East / South Coast area!!!! Brighton and Hove City Council are running a Sportivate Girls Learn to Skateboard course for females aged 14-25.
